Willi Friedrich Könitzer (born May 13, 1905 in Elberfeld , † January 9, 1947 in Oranienburg ) was a German journalist and writer .

Life

Willi Friedrich Könitzer received his doctorate in 1932 at the University of Marburg with a thesis on Hölderlin as a doctor of philosophy . During the time of National Socialism he worked as editor-in-chief and author for the radio ; in addition, he wrote literary works that are consistently shaped by a National Socialist and anti-Semitic attitude. In 1938, Könitzer translated the blatantly anti-Semitic pamphlet Bagatelles pour un massacre by Louis-Ferdinand Céline into German and in 1939 published a collection of articles on the “ Jewish question ”. He died as an intern in the Soviet special camp No. 7 Sachsenhausen . In the Soviet occupation zone and in the GDR , a large part of his works was placed on the list of literature to be sorted out.
