Willi Krause (writer)
Willi Krause (pseudonym Peter Hagen ; * 1907 in Berlin ; † uncertain: 1945 ) was a German journalist , director and screenwriter .
Life
Willi Krause became known as a writer under the name Peter Hagen and published novels, poetry and plays. As a staunch National Socialist, he was the editor of the National Socialist combat paper The Attack until January 1934 . From the beginning of February 1934 to 1936, following his appointment by Joseph Goebbels, he held the post of Reichsfilmdramaturge . His first influence on German filmmaking was the film adaptation of his novel “Nur nicht Weich werden Susanne”, directed by Arzén by Cserépy with Veit Harlan in a leading role, the early anti-Semitic film Nur nicht Weich werden, Susanne! . In 1935 Krause tried his hand at directing for the first time without having had any relevant experience; the anti-Soviet propaganda film Friesennot was made . Due to Krause's lack of talent and success, his film career was de facto ended in 1939; his whereabouts are unknown.
