Willi Mallon
Willi Mallon (* 1926 in Danzig ; † December 26, 1995 ) was one of the strongest German table tennis players in the early 1950s .
Career
Mallon grew up in his hometown of Gdansk on. After the Second World War he lived in Kassel. Here the defender belonged to the clubs Olympia Niederzweren, KSV Hessen Kassel , SV Hermannia Kassel and SV Grün-Weiß Kassel .
At the National German Championship in 1951 Mallon finished third in the singles. A year later he became German runner-up in doubles with Kurt Seifert . From 1952 to 1954 he was three times in a row Hessen champion in the individual. In 1952 he won the team with the Hessian Germany Cup . In the German ranking list he was 6th in 1953.
He was nominated for the national team three times. He was also there at the 1951 World Cup in Vienna.
