Hessian table tennis association

The Hessian Table Tennis Association (HTTV) is the amalgamation of table tennis clubs in Hessen . In terms of number of members, it is the fourth largest regional association in the DTTB . The office is located in Pohlheim (near Giessen). In addition to HTTV, HeTTV (to differentiate with the Hamburg Association) is used as an abbreviation.

In 2000 about 1,122 clubs with around 85,781 active members were affiliated with it. The association is divided into the four districts north, middle, west and south with a total of 23 districts.

The official organ of the HTTV is the magazine plopp .

history

The HTTV was founded on March 2, 1946, and the official statutes were adopted on April 1, 1946. The founders included Hermann Lutz (Darmstadt), Peter Bunn (Weiterstadt), Fritz Hafner (Frankfurt), Franz Hänzli (Frankfurt), Jean Ziegler (Frankfurt), Ludwig Oberlies (Frankfurt), Heinz Fuß (Frankfurt, born August 6, 1914 ) and Heinrich Kappes (Darmstadt, born October 25, 1919).

The following officials led the HTTV as 1st chairman:

  • Gunter Koslowski (Unterliederbach) (1964 – June 1970, born November 16, 1923)
  • Helmut Cronau (June 1970–1972, born July 23, 1934)
  • Hans-Joachim Waßmann (Wiesbaden) (1972–1978, born July 6, 1929 in Breslau)
  • Werner Haupt (1978–1979)
  • Dieter Wedekind (1979–1997)
  • Anke Schreiber (1997-2003)
  • Norbert English (born October 2, 1950) (2003-July 2016)
  • Andreas Hain (provisional since November 2016)

In 1984 the first Hessian senior team championships were held. It won the men's TTC Mörfelden ( Erich Arndt , Rudi Leskomics, Horst Hiebsch, Thomas Dammel) and the women's SKG Frankfurt (Fischer, Zurth).
