Christa Rühl

Christa Rühl , birth name Federhardt , (* around 1942; † July 1, 1997 in Stockhausen (Grünberg) ) was a German table tennis player . She took part in the 1969 World Cup.

Career

Rühl played around 1960 at Eintracht Wetzlar , later at Eintracht Frankfurt and finally at Gießener SV . She won thirteen titles at Hessen Championships , namely seven times in singles (1965-1967 and 1969-1972), four times in doubles (1969 with Hannelore Wörtche, 1970 with Gessinger, 1971 and 1972 with Gerlinde Glatzer ) and twice in mixed (1969 and 1971 with Günter Köcher ). At the Southwest German Championships she won singles in 1965 and doubles with Gerlinde Glatzer in 1972. In the 1969/70 season she was unbeaten in the league with a record of 18-0.

Rühl took part in the National German Championships several times . In 1965 she was third in the individual and in 1969 third in the mixed with Günter Köcher.

In 1969 Rühl was nominated for the individual competitions of the world championship . In the individual, she went one round without a fight and then won against Djurdja Duganic (Yugoslavia). Against the later bronze medalist Maria Alexandru (Romania) she lost smoothly. In doubles with Monika Block , after a win over Rigmor Sörensen / Berit Ommedal (Norway) and a win without a fight, she got into the third round, where she was eliminated against the later world champions Swetlana Grinberg / Soja Rudnowa (SU).

Private

Federhardt married around 1968 and then performed under the name Rühl .
