The Südbadischer Tischtennisverband (SbTTV) is the amalgamation of table tennis clubs in South Baden . Along with the Table Tennis Association Württemberg-Hohenzollern eV (TTVWH) and the Baden Table Tennis Association (BaTTV), it is one of three regional associations in Baden-Württemberg. Until its dissolution in 2011, he belonged to the South German Table Tennis Association . On January 1, 2020, the SbTTV will found a joint association with the TTVWH; the merger of all three Baden-Württemberg state associations failed because the BaTTV delegates did not vote with the necessary majority for their association to be included in the merger. The STTV is divided into the six districts Black Forest, Rastatt / Baden-Baden, Ortenau, Upper Rhine, Breisgau, Lake Constance.

The SbTTV office is located in Appenweier . The current president (2019) is Horst Haferkamp.

history

The SbTTV was founded in Freiburg in 1948 . Director Josef Schwarz (Freiburg) took the chair. The other chairmen were:

  • 1949–1958 Rudolf Sütterlin (Lörrach)
  • 1958–1967 Erwin Wagner (Säckingen)
  • 1967–1987 Franz Kölble (Ringsheim)
  • 1987–1991 Heinz Bayer (Offenburg)
  • 1991–1996 Helmut Unser (Rastatt)
  • 1996–1999 Hans-Georg Gebele
  • 1999 - today Horst Haferkamp

Rudolf Sütterlin and Franz Kölbe were appointed honorary chairmen.

On February 19, 1949, Germany's second international meeting after the war took place in Loerrach. The French military government approved a competition between a Basel selection and the TTC Lörrach, which Lörrach won 9: 4.

At the beginning of the 1990s, there were initiatives to unite the three member associations Badischer TTV, Südbadischer TTV and TTV Württemberg-Hohenzollern into a joint association Baden-Württemberg. In anticipation of this merger, joint Baden-Württemberg championships were held in Neckarsulm in January 1995. Although the two other associations approved the merger with a large majority, the South Baden TTV rejected this project. At the extraordinary association day in Waldkirch-Kollnau, the required four-fifths majority of those entitled to vote was not achieved, so the merger did not take place. In 2019 there was a renewed attempt to bring the three state associations to the registered association Tischtennis Baden-Württemberg e. V. to merge as a joint regional association. At the same association days taking place on June 29, 2019, the delegates of the Südbadischer Tischtennisverband eV voted with 100%, those of the Table Tennis Association Württemberg-Hohenzollern eV (TTVWH) with 98% and those of the Baden Table Tennis Association with 68% for the merger, since the Baden Table Tennis Association in However, the statutes required an approval rate of 80%, only the first two associations mentioned will become the joint Verband Tischtennis Baden-Württemberg e. V. merge.
