Tobias Beck

Tobias Beck (born January 14, 1974 in Dieburg ) is a German table tennis player and trainer. He worked as a women's national coach for a year.

Tobias Beck began playing table tennis in 1978 at TV Münster 1898 eV, where his father Rainer was an active table tennis player. He later played with several clubs in the second division . From Münster he went to the top division team of FTG Frankfurt , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd BL. In 1992 he moved to TV Müller Gönnern (then 2nd BL), 1997 to ESV Jahn Kassel (2nd BL), 1998 to TG 05 Nieder-Roden (Regionalliga), 2001 to SG Weiterstadt (Regionalliga), 2003 to SV Darmstadt 98 ( Oberliga) and in 2005 to TG Obertshausen (Regionalliga). Tobias Beck has been a player and trainer at the Hessian club DJK Blau-Weiß Münster since 2006.

Trainer

In 1996 Beck started working as a trainer. He worked for various clubs, mainly in the youth field. From August 1997 to July 2004 he also worked for the Hessian table tennis association HTTV . From July 2000 to June 2004 he was the assistant coach of the Bundesliga team of TTV RE-BAU Gönnern , with whom he was German runner-up in 2001 and 2002 and German cup winner in 2001.

Since September 2003 he has worked as a freelance trainer for the German Table Tennis Association DTTB . In August 2004, he replaced Richard Prause , who trained the men from then, as national coach for the women. He looked after the women's team at the 2005 European Championships and the 2005 World Championships . In August 2005, he terminated the contract with the DTTB prematurely for family reasons. His successor was Jörg Bitzigeio .

Private

Beck is married and has three sons and a daughter.
