Kurt Seifert (table tennis player)

Kurt Seifert (born July 31, 1919 in Wiesbaden ; † October 13, 2001 there ) was a German table tennis player . He was one of the best German players in the early 1950s.

The four-time individual Hessen champion (1947–1950) Seifert played for the clubs Germania Wiesbaden and SV Wiesbaden . With the SV Wiesbaden he came from 1950 to 1953 at the German team championships four times in a row in the final. At the German Individual Championships he was twice second in the individual, in 1951 behind Walter Than and in 1953 behind Conny Freundorfer . In 1955 it came in third. Together with Willi Mallon he reached the doubles final in 1952. With the Hessian team, he won the German Cup in 1953 .

From 1951 to 1956 Seifert played 14 international matches. He represented Germany at the World Championships in 1951 and 1955 (only individual). In 1955 he was second in the individual at the International Championships of Belgium. In the 1953 all-German ranking, Seifert came in second.

Private

Seifert was a graphic artist by profession. He was married and the father of a daughter (* 1962).
