Willi Oberbeck

Willi Oberbeck (born February 21, 1910 in Hagen ; † July 9, 1979 there ) was a German racing cyclist . From 1934 to 1936 he was a member of the German national team of amateurs . During this time he achieved podium places in races such as Berlin – Warsaw and Basel – Cleve . From 1937 to 1942 he was active as a professional in the “Diamant” team. From 1937 to 1939 he took part in the tours that preceded today's Germany Tour . In 1938 Oberbeck won the first stage of the Tour de France and consequently wore the yellow jersey of the overall leader of the tour for one day .
