William Bernhard von Guenther

William Bernhard von Guenther (born April 4, 1878 in Grzybno, Posen , † April 10, 1960 in Bremen ) was a German administrative officer and manor owner.

Life

William Bernhard von Guenther studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1898 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen . In 1907 he passed the government assessor exam and became a government assessor in the Liegnitz district . In 1913 he became district administrator of the Rawitsch district . He held the office until 1920, when the district was finally ceded to Poland. He then moved to Liegnitz , where he was chairman of the Liegnitz-Rawitscher Railway Company and managed the 375-hectare Grzybno manor that belonged to him and his mother. During the Second World War he was briefly again district administrator of the Rawitsch district and from 1941 to 1945 district administrator of the Liegnitz district . At the end of the war he came to Bremen , where he lived until his death. He was married to Erna Freiin von Schlichting and Bukowiec.
