William "Will" Davies is a British film producer and screenwriter .

Life

William Davies is the brother of television producer Michael Davies and opera singer Rebecca de Pont Davies. He graduated from the Mercersburg Academy in 1979.

In the late 1980s, Davies began writing scripts for comedies . He worked with William Osborne on the films The Heartbreakers from the Last Bank (1987), Twins (1988), Stop! Or my mommy shoots! (1992), Karen McCoy - The Cat (1993) and Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde (1995). In 1993 he received together with Osborne and Blake Snyder for Stop! Or my mommy shoots! the golden raspberry for the worst script . In 2002 he wrote the script for the action film Ignition for the first time on his own . Davies then returned to film comedies, such as Johnny English - The Spy Who Said It (2003) and its sequel Johnny English - Now even more! (2011).

He also wrote the screenplay for animated films such as Flutsch und weg in 2006, How to Train Your Dragon in 2010 and Puss in Boots in 2011 . For Flutsch und weg he won the Annie Award in the category Writing in a Feature Production together with Dick Clement , Ian La Frenais Christopher Lloyd and Joe Keenan . Also made easy for how to train your dragon , he won the Annie Award in the same category together with Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders . In addition, the three were nominated for the 2011 Hugo Award in the Best Dramatic Presentation (Long Form) category.
