William H. Tuntke

William H. Tuntke ( September 24, 1906 in Hamburg - August 25, 1997 ) was an American art director . During his career he received two Academy Award nominations in the category " Best Art Direction " and two Primetime Emmy nominations.

Tuntke began his career in 1956 and was primarily involved in movies until the mid-1960s. Then he turned to television. In total, he was involved in more than 30 different productions.

He received his first Oscar nomination in 1965 for Mary Poppins . The second followed in 1972 for Andromeda - Deadly Dust from Space .
