William H. Wilson

William Henry Wilson (born December 6, 1877 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , †  August 11, 1937 in Santa Barbara , California ) was an American politician . Between 1935 and 1937 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

William Wilson attended public schools in his home country. After a subsequent law degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his admission to the bar in 1899, he began to work in this profession in Philadelphia. Between 1900 and 1909 he was one of the legal representatives of his hometown. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . From 1913 to 1915 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania ; from 1916 to 1920 he headed the Philadelphia Public Security Agency.

In the 1934 congressional election , Wilson was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded James M. Beck on January 3, 1935 . Since he was not confirmed in 1936, he could only complete one term in Congress until January 3, 1937 . During this time, other New Deal laws were passed by the Roosevelt government. William Wilson died in Santa Barbara on August 11, 1937, just eight months after his term in Congress ended.
