William Leo Higi

William Leo Higi (born August 29, 1933 in Anderson ) is former bishop of Lafayette in Indiana .

Life

William Leo Higi was ordained a priest on May 30, 1959 .

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Lafayette, Indiana on April 7, 1984 . He received his episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Indianapolis , Edward Thomas O'Meara , on June 6 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Raymond Joseph Gallagher , Bishop Emeritus of Lafayette, Indiana, and Joseph Robert Crowley , Auxiliary Bishop Fort Wayne-South Bend .

On May 12, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
