William Tepper

William Tepper (born June 27, 1948 in New York City - † October 4, 2017 ) was an American actor and screenwriter . He was best known for his leading role in his first film, Drive, He Said from 1971, which also marked Jack Nicholson's debut as a film director. Tepper and Nicholson traveled to the 1971 Cannes Film Festival for its debut. Teppers other film roles were in breathless (1983) and Bachelor Party (1984) as well as in the television series The boss and use in Manhattan from the 70s.

In addition to acting, Tepper produced the 1980 dramatic film Heartbeats , a biopic about the writer Jack Kerouac in which Nick Nolte and Sissy Spacek played the lead roles. Tepper also produced and wrote the script for the 2006 film Roast and Sold, starring Ray Romano , Kevin James and Sofía Vergara .

Tepper died of a heart attack on October 4, 2017, at the age of 69.
