The Williams River , formerly also called Dorribang River , is a river in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales .

It rises at Barrington House in Barrington Tops National Park and flows southeast and south where it meets the Hunter River just west of the Fitzgerald Bridge in Raymond Terrace . On its way it flows through the cities of Salisbury , Bandon Grove , Fosterton , Dungog , Brookfield , Clarence Town and Seaham .
