Willis Ridge is a narrow mountain range in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It extends east-west between the Aster Glacier and the Sowers Glacier on the east side of Mount Craddock in the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2006 after the geologist Michael J. Willis of Ohio State University , who between 1997 and 2006 carried out studies on the Siple Dome and the Whillans , Bindschadler and MacAyeal ice currents , among other things .
