Willy Knorr

R. Willy Knorr (born July 23, 1878 in Zerbst ; † March 7, 1937 in Dessau ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( DNVP ).

Life and work

Knorr studied law. During his studies he became a member of the Salingia Halle fraternity in 1897 and of the Dresdensia fraternity in Leipzig in 1898 . 1900 joined the judicial service as a court trainee and worked as a government trainee in Merseburg from 1903 . He received his doctorate in 1903 as Dr. jur. and in 1906 Dr. rer. pol., passed the second state examination in law and was then a government assessor. In 1912 he was appointed a councilor. Since 1913, he served as district director and district administrator of the district of Ballenstedt , from 1917 then as district administrator of the district of Bernburg .

From 1919 on, Knorr was President of the Finance Directorate and Head of the Anhalt Finance Administration as a Privy Councilor. In 1926 he retired. From 1931 to 1933 he was general superintendent of the Evangelical Church of Anhalt as senior church councilor .

politics

Knorr was Prime Minister of the Free State of Anhalt from July 9, 1924 to November 25, 1924 . After the formation of a coalition of NSDAP and DNVP, he served as Minister of State and Finance in the state government led by Prime Minister Alfred Freyberg from May 21, 1932 to April 18, 1933 . In 1933, Knorr was a member of the Anhalt State Parliament for the black-white-red battle front .
