Willy Lang

Willy Lang (born April 5, 1945 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper. In 1969/70 he played for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Until 1969 Willy Lang was goalkeeper at the company sports club (BSG) Stahl Hennigsdorf , last played with her in the third-class district league Potsdam and was district champion in 1969. He then moved to the 1969/70 season for the league club FC Karl-Marx-Stadt (FCK), who nominated him as the second goalkeeper behind Manfred Hambeck for the league team. In the course of the season, Lang also lagged behind the third goalkeeper Manfred Kaschel with his five league appearances . After the season, the FCK had to relegate to the GDR league . In the 30 point games in 1970/71, Lang was only a substitute goalkeeper with just seven appearances. FCK managed to get promoted again immediately and signed a new goalkeeper, Ralf Kunze , for the new league season . Lang was downgraded to the second team, with which he played again in the district league in 1971/72 and was also district champion. The team also made it to the GDR league, where Lang did not appear in the next few years.

It was not until the 1976/77 season that he reappeared in the GDR league with the promoted progress Krumhermersdorf , where he played fourteen of the twenty point games. Since the relegation was not made, Lang disappeared again in the third division. He completed a last GDR league season in 1978/79 with BSG Motor Fritz Heckert Karl-Marx-Stadt , the successor to FC Karl-Marx-Stadt II.
