Willy Schaller

Wilhelm Josef Schaller (born May 30, 1923 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ; † April 17, 1983 there ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Life

Willy Schaller came as one of four children from a family of craftsmen in Weiden and learned the bakery trade in his father's business . Willy Schaller was of the Roman Catholic faith and had with his wife Martha geb. Höpfl six children: five sons and a daughter. He died on April 17, 1983 at the age of 59.

Act

From 1958 to 1970 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the CSU . He was also a member of the city ​​council of his hometown Weiden in the Upper Palatinate from 1956 to 1977 .

Schaller learned the bakery trade from 1937 to 1940 and did his military service as a corporal from 1942 to 1945. In 1948, at the age of 25, he passed the master craftsman examination. He was a part-time specialist teacher at the municipal vocational school in Weiden and a member of the journeyman's examination committee, from 1956 a member of the general assembly and the board of the Upper Palatinate Chamber of Crafts in Regensburg, from 1961 journeyman vice-president of the Chamber of Crafts.

As one of the youngest members of the CSU parliamentary group, Willy Schaller moved into the city council of the independent city of Weiden in 1956 , to which he was a member until 1977. On March 8, 1964, he stood for the election of Lord Mayor, but was subject to the incumbent Hans Schelter ( SPD ) with 30.73% of the valid votes . The turnout was 85.4%. In 1958 Willy Schaller was elected to the Bavarian state parliament, to which he belonged for almost three legislative periods - until 1970 - as a representative of the constituencies of Neustadt an der Waldnaab , Weiden-Stadt, Eschenbach in the Upper Palatinate and Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Weiden-Stadt. On September 9, 1970, a few weeks before the end of the legislative period, he resigned his mandate for health reasons. Schaller was temporarily a member of the following committees and bodies: Committee for Submissions and Complaints, Committee for Border Country Issues, Committee for Social Policy Affairs, State Sports Advisory Board. He served as deputy district chairman of the Junge Union , Upper Palatinate District Association.

Willy Schaller also earned merit in the Deutsche Jugendkraft (DJK). From 1961, among other things, he was chairman of the Regensburg Diocesan Association for many years. Schaller was a co-founder of many DJK clubs in the districts of Neustadt an der Waldnaab and Eschenbach at the time. He also held the title of Honorary Chairman of the DJK Weiden and acted as the initiator and engine of the Weiden indoor swimming pool construction association. Willy Schaller was a member of the German Confederation Mr. , the community of Familiaren the Bailiwick Germany the Teutonic Order . He also received the Bavarian Order of Merit.
