action

Britta Mantzke appears quite relaxed at Wilsberg's because of a family matter and gets an appointment from Alex the next morning. But the next morning she is recovered dead from the Aasee. On the basis of the purchased book, which she forgot at Wilsberg's, a confrontation between Britta Mantzke and the Sandfort family can be observed on a surveillance video from the bookstore, but what upset Britta there remains open at first. In a second storyline, Ekki throws his leather jacket into the old clothes collection and discovers too late that his wallet was still there. When he looks for it in the hall of the Dress4Aid aid organization, which collects the things and of which Arthur Sandfort is managing director, he witnesses some mysterious machinations. A third thread consists of Alex's new job in the law firm Schrobecke & Partner, where she is responsible for the reproductive clinic "Best Hope" and initially to assist the artificially conceived Kira Baumgärtner at the first meeting with the sperm donor who is her biological father - To Alex's surprise, Overbeck appears.

While Alex delves into the subtleties of paternity law and artificial insemination and falls in love with Thorsten Friedrichs, the head of "Beste Hope", Ekki tries in vain to uncover dishonest machinations at Dress4Aid, and the reluctant Overbeck makes friends with his sudden friend Daughter. Ekki undertakes private explorations at Dress4Aid and his life is in danger when he is photographed there and is discovered pushing arms. He can just escape.

Wilsberg and Alex discover that with “Beste Hope” illegally co-fertilized egg cells, which actually have to be disposed of as hospital waste, are sold to well-paying couples unable to reproduce without the knowledge of their producers. Britta Mantzke had egg cells removed from her there prior to severe chemotherapy , after which she and her husband Guido fulfilled their desire to have children through artificial fertilization. In the toy store Britta was shocked by the sight of little Jolanda Sandfort, who looks very similar to her daughter Amrei and is actually her genetic sister. When Alex and Wilsberg therefore want to confront Friedrichs, they just manage to break off a fatal attack - Friedrichs was gassed in his car. An act of revenge by the Mantzkes or the Sandforts?

The seriously poisoned Friedrichs died shortly afterwards in the hospital when his biologist Rolf Speyer switched off the oxygen ventilation in an unguarded moment. Now Alex knows that Speyer, not Friedrichs, is the criminal embryo seller and also the murderer. Speyer kidnaps her into the cellar of "Beste Hope" to kill her there in liquid nitrogen. At the last moment Alex can dial Wilsberg's number unnoticed from her cell phone, who overhears the kidnapping and ends the game at the same time as the unsuccessful, coincidentally present Overbeck (who, to his chagrin, is not Kira's father).

particularities

The title refers to the cryopreservation of oocytes in liquid nitrogen, so-called oocyte cryopreservation , at -196  ° C .

The running gag "Bielefeld" appears in the 46th minute when Kira in Overbeck's apartment finds out that he has finished third in the police darts championship in Bielefeld.

In film minute 57, a paternity report is shown, which states that the putative father L. Overbeck's date of birth is March 5, 1968.

The film shows two daydream sequences with Alex: In film minute 7, on the occasion of an interview with Albert Schrobecke, senior partner of the law firm Schrobecke & Partner. And in minute 36 when saying goodbye to love interest Dr. Thorsten Friedrichs, the clinic director of the fertility center "Beste Hope GmbH".

The song at the end of the episode is We Are Family by Sister Sledge .
