The Hardenberg-Wilthen Aktiengesellschaft is a company in the spirits industry in Norten-Hardenberg . According to its own information, Hardenberg-Wilthen AG is the second largest spirits manufacturer in Germany.
The shares are exclusively owned by the family of the Counts of Hardenberg through the Graeflich von Hardenberg'sche Kornbrennerei GmbH & Co. KG .
history
The company in its current form was founded in 1998. The story goes back to the year 1700, however, when Fritz-Dietrich von Hardenberg opened the Hardenberg grain distillery.
In 1971 the Hardenberg grain distillery took over shares in the traditional Danzig liqueur factory Der Lachs (founded in 1598).
After the German reunification , the company bought the Saxon distillery in Wilthen in 1992 and integrated it. The tradition of this house goes back to the year 1842. The takeover also enabled the integration of another traditional brand, the Wilthener Goldkrone .
The company has been cooperating with Semper idem Underberg GmbH in production since 2007 . A joint production line was set up together at the Saxon location in Wilthen. This is operated by the subsidiary Santa Barbara GmbH, founded in 2006 .
