Wim Crusio
Wim Crusio (born December 20, 1954 in Bergen op Zoom ) is a Dutch neurobiologist and behavioral geneticist . He is “directeur de recherche” at the Center national de la recherche scientifique in Talence , France.
Life
In 1979 Crusio obtained his master’s degree from Radboud University Nijmegen with theses in the field of behavioral genetics , plant taxonomy and plant sociology . In 1984 he received his Ph.D. with a thesis in the field of behavioral genetics. In the following years he worked in the field of plant taxonomy and published on the genus Bunge and a new species from the genus of the arum family . Supported by an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship , Crusio worked as a post-doctoral student at Heidelberg University from 1984 to 1987 . In 2000 he became professor of psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts.
From 2002 to 2011 he was editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Genes, Brain and Behavior and since 2017 of Behavioral and Brain Functions .
Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Crusio ".
