Winfried Eisenblätter

Winfried Eisenblätter (born May 19, 1934 in Emden ) is a German Baptist cleric i. R. and professor emeritus for the Old Testament at the Theological Seminary of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches . He also gained fame as a theological writer .

Life

Winfried Eisenblätter comes from a Baptist family. After graduating from high school , he studied philology at the universities of Bonn and Münster from 1954 to 1957 . He then studied theology at the universities of Heidelberg , Zurich and Marburg , which he completed in 1962 with the theological state examination in Marburg. From 1963 to 1964, Eisenblätter studied at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Rüschlikon (Switzerland). At the same time, he began his professional career as an assistant in the theological faculty of the University of Zurich. Here he worked until 1966. A so-called candidate year at the theological seminar of the Baptists in Hamburg-Horn (combined with a teaching assistant) followed in the winter semester of 1966.

1967 doctorate Winfried Eisenblätter a doctorate in theology and then started as a pastor on trial in the Evangelical Free Church congregation Essen-Nord . He received his recognition as pastor of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches (Baptists) in 1970. In the same year he followed the call of the Baptist congregations of Rüschlikon and Thalwil and was their parish pastor until 1974. In 1974 the federal government of the Evangelical Free Churches appointed him to their theological seminar in Hamburg-Horn (today: Theological University of Elstal ). Until the summer semester of 1991 he was a lecturer in the Old Testament there. In August 1991 returned to the community service once more. Until his retirement in 1998 he was pastor of the Evangelical Free Church Community (Baptists) Bremerhaven .

Winfried Eisenblätter is married to the artist Edelgard Eisenblätter-Brockhaus and has two children. Today he lives with his wife in Mölln . In addition to extensive lecturing activities (including as a guest lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Theological Seminar in Wustermark-Elstal), he works on a voluntary basis for telephone counseling .
