Winfried Menrad

Winfried Menrad (born February 10, 1939 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ; † August 26, 2016 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Menrad initially worked as a commercial clerk, later studied economics and worked as a graduate trade teacher and director of studies. At the CDU, he was chairman of the Schwäbisch Hall district association for a number of years , and for the Christian Democratic workforce , he was district chairman in northern Württemberg, was a member of the state board and was also deputy national chairman. He also sat on the Presidium of the European Union of Christian Democratic Workers (EUCDW) and in the district council. From 1989 to 2004 he was a member of the European Parliament .

He was a member of the Catholic student union KStV Burggraf Nürnberg.
