Winfried Wagemann

Winfried Wagemann (born February 5, 1940 in Opole , Silesia ) is a German surgeon and pediatric surgeon .

Life

Winfried Wagemann was born in 1940 as the son of a doctor. At the end of the Second World War , the family fled to Haldensleben in Saxony-Anhalt . Wagemann passed his Abitur there. He studied medicine at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He then worked at the University's Anatomical Institute under Anton Waldeyer . There he was in 1967 with a dissertation on the topic "Animal observations to the phases of Persorptionsmechanismus on rat intestine" also graduated .
He later completed further training in surgery, completed his habilitation in 1979 with a thesis on "The intraoperative assessment of the outflow tract and the terminal flow tract, its significance as a limiting factor for vascular reconstruction in chronic arterial circulatory disorders in the femoro-popliteal vascular segment" , was appointed senior physician at an early stage specialized in vascular surgery .

In 1985 he succeeded Karl-Heinrich Römer as head of pediatric surgery at the Magdeburg Medical Academy . He managed this until his retirement.
