Winfried Werner (born October 26, 1952 in Kusel ) is a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ). From November 1991 to September 2017 he was district administrator of the Donnersbergkreis . He is married, has two grown children and lives in Kirchheimbolanden .

Professional background

After studying law at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz , he passed the first state examination in 1976 and the second state examination in 1979. In March 1979 he entered the service of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and was seconded to the district administration of the Donnersbergkreis in October 1980 . Here he initially worked as a department head for youth, social affairs and construction. In 1984, he was taken into the service of the district administration and the department head responsible for hospitals in sponsorship of the district, public transport and waste management .

Political career

On 23 September 1991 Winfried Werner was the council elected the Donnersberg district to district. In 2001 he stood as the SPD candidate for the primary election and was re-elected as district administrator with 52.0% of the votes cast. In 2009 he was re-elected in his office with 51.2%. In May 2016, he announced that he would no longer stand for the 2017 district election, his term of office therefore ended on September 22, 2017.

Positions

Werner advocates a ban on the NPD , on the sidelines of a demonstration in Eisenberg (Palatinate) in 2013 he said: “What hurts me the most is that we have to approve such demos.” He is also committed to ensuring that the Zellertal Railway continues and is incorporated into the Rhineland-Palatinate clock .
