Wingfields Gut (also: Black River ) is a so-called ghaut ( gut ), an ephemeral body of water similar to a Fiumara , on St. Kitts , in the Caribbean island state of St. Kitts and Nevis .
geography
The river has its source south of St. Kitts, on the southern slope of Verchild's Peak . Together with some source streams it runs south and soon flows into the Caribbean Sea at Old Road Town in Old Road Bay , very close to the mouth of the neighboring East River .
