Susan Beth Winnett

Susan Beth Winnett (* 1954 in New York City ) is an American scholar of America .

Life

She studied English from 1970 and 1974 at Yale University and at the Graduate School of Yale University, where she received her dissertation on Terrible Sociability in 1982 . The text of Manners in Laclos , Goethe and Henry James doctorate . She taught at the University of Hamburg, at Dartmouth College and at the University of Bremen . After completing his habilitation in 2004 in the subject of North American literature and culture with the work Writing Back. She taught American Expatriates' Narratives of Return in Hamburg in 2004 as a private lecturer for literature and culture in North America. She represented chairs in 2007/2008 at the University of Kiel and since the summer semester 2008 at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf , where she was appointed W3 Professor for American Studies by Hans Michael Piper on December 15, 2009 .
