The winter garden program was shown for the first time on November 1, 1895 in the Varieté Wintergarten , and is considered the first commercial cinema showing.
In 1994 the film was reconstructed by the Federal Archives - Filmarchiv with the support of the Deutsche Kinemathek Foundation (Berlin) and Optronik GmbH (Potsdam) and other partners.
