The Wintersberg is 434 m above sea level. NN high mountain in the Spessart about two kilometers southeast of the city center of Bad Orb . It separates the Haselbachtal in the north from the Orb valley in the south. A two-kilometer high trail connects the Wintersberg with the children's village Wegscheide in the southeast . The shortest ascent from Bad Orb leads with an average gradient of twelve percent in one hour over the elevated road to the summit. The Wintersberg is forested and offers no view from the summit area.
However, hiking trails on the lower southern slope of the Wintersberg open up partial views of Bad Orb and the upper Orb Valley - so far above orchards and pastures.
On the northern slope of the winter mountain , the Spessartbogen long-distance hiking trail runs above the Haselbach valley and then steeply down into the valley floor.
