The Spessartbogen is an approx. 91 kilometer long trail through the Hessischer Spessart Nature Park in the southeast of Hesse . The end points are in the Kinzig valley in Langenselbold and shortly before Schlüchtern , also in the Kinzig valley. About halfway there it crosses the old town streets of Bad Orb .

The preparations for the routing and marking of the hiking trail took about two years; more than 2000 signs were put up. The opening ceremony took place on May 11, 2012 in Bad Orb.

The logo of the long-distance hiking trail is a yellow rectangle with a blue line (symbolizes the Kinzig) and a green semicircle (stands for the arched course, based on the Kinzig).

The aim is to promote hiking tourism in the Hessian Spessart. Unlike in the Bavarian Spessart, this part of the nature park previously lacked long-distance hiking trails with consistent markings.
