Oberrodenbach is the smaller of the two districts of the municipality of Rodenbach in the Main-Kinzig district in East Hesse .
Oberrodenbach is located on the Rodenbach on the edge of the Vorspessart . Landesstraße 3268 runs through the village. The nearest train station is in the neighboring village of Niederrodenbach on the Kinzig Valley Railway .
history
In 1338 Niederrodenbach was first mentioned as a separate place. When the division of the village of Rodenbach, first mentioned in 1025, can no longer be determined, but there must also have been an Oberrodenbach in 1338. The Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul was built in 1836/37.
Territorial reform
In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Oberrodenbach merged with the municipality of Niederrodenbach on March 1, 1970 to form the municipality of Rodenbach.
