Waldrode is a settlement and part of the Grossenhausen district of the Linsengericht community in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse .
geography
Waldrode is in the south of the district of Großenhausen at about 290 m above sea level. NHN on the border with Bavaria . Birkenhainer Straße (Landesstraße L 3444) runs through the village . Waldrode is located on a plateau between the valleys of Krötenbach and Brühlgraben on the western slope of the Franzosenkopf (481 m). To the south flows the Rochusberg (333 m) of Näßlichbach .
history
From 1935 to 1938, a large area of forest southeast of Großenhausen was cleared and the hamlet of Waldrode was founded. The place name was chosen as the clearing name . A hereditary farm village was planned for farmers in line with the ideology of National Socialism . It was inaugurated on July 29, 1939. Over the years, the settlement changed into a residential area.
