The Wirth Peninsula is a wide, 32 km long and icy peninsula on the Bryan coast of the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It separates Eltanin Bay from Fladerer Bay .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them on the basis of their own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1961 and 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1968 after Lawrence G. Wirth of the US Navy, commander of the USNS Eltanin on Antarctic voyages between September 1966 and November 1967.
