The Fladerer Bay , a 10 km wide and 24 km long bay on the Bryan Coast of the West Antarctic Ellsworthlands . It lies between the Wirth and the Rydberg peninsula .
The United States Geological Survey , they mapped the basis of own surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed it in 1968 to George W. Fladerer (1919-1995), commander of the icebreaker USNS Eltanin , the was used as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program to explore the Southern Ocean .
