The venue has been the Gasthaus Hirzinger in Söllhuben in Chiemgau in Upper Bavaria since 2006 . The programs are presented by Traudi Siferlinger together with a co-moderator. Wolfgang Binder was co-moderator until 2017 . In November 2017 the musician Dominik Glöbl took over this role .

Format of the broadcast

Söllhuben, Gasthof Hirzinger, ballroom; The hall will be decorated for the recording of the broadcast

Several singers and musicians from southern Germany and Austria are invited to each episode. The presenters mix traditional folk music with younger and more modern formats that appeal to younger singers and musicians.

Several times a year, Bavarian television produces new episodes of the program that are recorded. In between, Bavarian TV shows a 45-minute short version of past episodes two to three times a month on Saturday. The television recording of Wirtshausmusikanten bei Hirzinger is not a public event, so participation is only possible in the dress rehearsal. Since the number of places is limited, Bavarian TV has been raffling the tickets since 2016. Bayerischer Rundfunk also sells recordings of the programs on CD and DVD via the BR Shop.

Gasthof zur Post and Hotel Hirzinger

Gasthof Hirzinger in Söllhuben. The location of the show is in a hall to the right of the main building.

The Gasthof zur Post and Hotel Hirzinger in Söllhuben near Riedering in Chiemgau was first mentioned in 1477 as “Landlord von Selhueben” in the old model registers of the Hohenaschau rule. Since then it has been in the family. The building at Endorfer Straße 13, currently used as an inn, was built between 1870 and 1880, and served as a post office until 1928. The business consists of an inn, which is over 100 years old, a wine bar, a beer garden, a hotel and a butcher's shop. Since 2006, the Bavarian television has been using the company as an event location for the series "Wirtshausmusikanten".
