Witteveen + Bos is originally a Dutch consulting and engineering company that provides services in the fields of infrastructure, hydraulic engineering, the environment and construction. The company employs more than 1100 people and mainly carries out complex, multidisciplinary projects. The company has an ownership structure in which 100% of the shares are held by the employees.
The company focuses on the upper end of the consulting market. Customers are governments, corporations and partnerships. Witteveen + Bos is the seventh largest engineering company in the Netherlands. It has 21 offices in 11 countries.
history
The engineering office was founded in Deventer in 1946 and is named after the founders and civil engineers Willem Gerrit Witteveen (1891–1979) and Prof. Goosen Siger Bos. The first project was the Prince Bernhard lock in Deventer.
Organization and structure
The organization of Witteveen + Bos is based on a cell concept that consists of relatively independent units for the respective markets.
The management in accordance with the articles of association is appointed by the senior partners. The management consists of Karin Sluis (General Director) and Stephan van der Biezen. In 2016, the company appointed a supervisory board that monitors the continuity of the company but does not appoint any new board members. In addition to the headquarters in Deventer, Witteveen + Bos has branches in Amsterdam , Breda , The Hague , Heerenveen , Rotterdam and Utrecht .
International
The company has been operating abroad for decades. Activities are focused on Europe, the former Soviet republics, and Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Witteveen + Bos has branches or a project office in Antwerp and Steenokkerzeel ( Belgium ), Jakarta ( Indonesia ), Aktau , Almaty and Atyrau ( Kazakhstan ), Saint Petersburg ( Russia ), Ho Chi Minh City ( Vietnam ) and Riga ( Latvia ), as well as in Singapore , London , Dubai ( United Arab Emirates ) and Accra ( Ghana ).

Trivia
- The Witteveen + Bos Prize for Art + Technology has been awarded since 2002 to an artist who combines art and technology in a special way. The prize money consists of 15,000 euros, a book about the artist's work and an exhibition in the Bergkerk in Deventer.
