Vladimir Arabajiev

Vladimir Arabadschiew ( Bulgarian Владимир Арабаджиев ; born March 16, 1984 in Plovdiv ) is a former Bulgarian racing driver .

Career

After Arabajiev had started his motorsport career in karting , he switched to formula racing in 2006 . He made his first experiences in the Italian Formula 3 championship , where he finished eleventh in the overall standings. In 2007 the Bulgarian started in the Euroseries 3000 , in which he finished seventh overall. In 2008 he switched to JD Motorsport and competed in both the Italian and international Formula Masters . While he finished seventh overall with one win in the international Formula Master, he won the runner-up in the Italian Formula Master with four wins behind Marcello Puglisi . In 2009 Arabajiev stayed with JD Motorsport and contested his second season in the international Formula Master. Although he reached five podium finishes, he did not manage to win. Thus, at the end of the season, he finished seventh in the drivers' championship behind his two team-mates Sergei Afanassjew and Josef Král .

In the 2009/2010 season of the GP2 Asia series , Arabadschiew competed for the Rapax Team (formerly Piquet GP). At the end of the season he finished 20th overall without any points. For the 2010 season of the regular GP2 series , the Bulgarian received a cockpit at Scuderia Coloni . For the last two GP2 race weekends of the season, Coloni replaced him with New Zealander Brendon Hartley . At the end of the season he finished 29th overall. He also competed for DAMS for the first race weekend of the Auto GP series organized by Coloni, in which he was already involved in 2007 when the championship was called Euroseries 3000. With a win he finished eleventh overall. In November, Arabajev took part in Formula 1 test drives for Lotus Racing for the first time .
