Wladimir Iossifowitsch Ressin ( Russian Влади́мир Ио́сифович Ре́син ; scientific transliteration Vladimir Iosifovič Resin ; born February 21, 1936 in Minsk ) is a Russian politician .

Life

After completing a degree in business administration at the Moscow Mining Institute in 1958, Ressin worked in coal mining before moving to the Moscow municipal construction company Mosinschstroi in 1962 . From 1974 to 1987 he was manager of this company, until 1990 manager or deputy manager of other construction companies.

Since 1980, Ressin was also politically active, first as a member of the Rajonsovjet of the Moscow district of Kunzewo , then from 1981 to 1990 as a member of the Moscow City Council . In 1991 he became Deputy Prime Minister, in 1992 First Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow City Government. At the same time, he has been chairman of the city government's building department since 1992. In 2001 he was appointed First Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

With the dismissal of the long-time mayor Yuri Luzhkov by President Dmitry Medvedev on September 28, 2010, Ressin took over the post on a temporary basis . On October 5, he announced his entry into the Kremlin's United Russia party . On October 21, 2010, Sergei Sobyanin was elected mayor of Moscow.

On December 4, 2011, Ressin was elected to the State Duma of the 6th convocation, after which Sobyanin released him from his post as first deputy mayor of Moscow.

Vladimir Ressin is married and has one daughter.
