Vladimir Sergeyevich Belov

Wladimir Sergejewitsch Below , ( Russian Владимир Сергеевич Белов , born August 6, 1984 in Kirschatsch ) is a Russian chess master and chess coach.

Below learned to play chess at the age of six, when he was eleven, his coach became Grandmaster Sergei Schipow . Below graduated from the Russian State University for Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism in Moscow in 2006 and worked with some of the best chess players in Russia, but also with Nasi Paikidze from Georgia . He was the official commentator at the 2006 World Chess Championship .

Below won or occupied top places in many tournaments: 1st place in the Russian U-12 championship in Volgograd (1996), 2nd place in the Kasparov Cup in Moscow (2000), 3rd place in the Russian U-18 championship in Dagomys (2002), 1st place at the Open in Kavala (2004), 1st place at the Masters Open in Hastings (2004/2005), 1st place at the 20th North Sea Cup in Esbjerg (2005), 1st place at the championship from Moscow (2007), 1st place at the MTO Open in Biel 2008, 1st place at the Open in Zvenigorod (2008) and 1st place at the 16th Chigorin Memorial in St. Petersburg (2008).

Below played in the Russian team championship from 2004 to 2006 for Termosteps Samara , 2007 for Elara Tscheboksary , 2009 for Eurasia Logistics Moscow and 2010 for the Ural Sverdlovsk Region team , with which he also took part in the European Club Cup that same year . In the Chinese Team Championship, he played for Zhejiang Meiyuan Hotel in 2009 and for Qinhuangdao Evening News in 2013 . Below's Elo number is 2614 (as of January 2016), in November 2010 he reached his highest Elo number of 2641.
