Vladimir Smirnov (cyclist)
Vladimir Smirnov (born April 13, 1978 in Klaipėda ) is a Lithuanian racing cyclist of Russian origin.
Career
Vladimir Smirnov began his career in 1999 with the Belgian team Palmans-Ideal . In his second year there he won the Gran Premio Nobili Rubinetterie and was Lithuanian road racing champion . The next year he moved to the Polish team CCC Mat , where he was able to defend the victory at the Gran Premio Nobili Rubinetterie. Smirnow has been driving for the Continental Team Cinelli-Endeka-OPD since 2007 .
In 2008, Smirnov was banned from doping with EPO for two years until October 2010.
