Remigijus Lupeikis

Remigijus Lupeikis (born September 22, 1964 in Klaipėda ) is a former Soviet and later Lithuanian racing cyclist .

1986 Remigijus Lupeikis was junior world champion in the team pursuit , together with Sergei Wodopjanow, Dargos Tschiwinski and Aidas Klimavičius. He won a Soviet championship title in 1988 with the team from Klaipeda in the team pursuit (including with Gintautas Umaras ). In 1992 he switched to the professionals . In 1994 he won the Berlin stage trip and came third in the Tour de Normandie . At the UCI track world championships in 1995 in Bogotá he was runner-up in the points race . In 1997 he won the Valley of the Sun Stage Race and in 2000 the Tour of Egypt . In 2001 he finished third in the overall ranking of the Herald Sun Tour .

In 2000 Lupeikis was Lithuanian runner-up in road racing, in 2002 Lithuanian master and runner-up in the individual time trial . Twice, in 1996 and 2000 , he started in various disciplines at the Olympic Games, but could not place himself at the front. In 2002 he retired from cycling.
