Cristian Emanuel Bălgrădean (born March 21, 1988 in Arad ) is a Romanian football player on the position of goalkeeper . He has been under contract with FCSB Bucharest since February 2018 .

Career

Bălgrădean's career began in 2006 at the age of 16 in Liga II with Minerul Lupeni . At Minerul he was a regular before joining the club for FC Brașov during the 2006/07 winter break . He was unable to assert himself there and only had a few missions in a year and a half. In the summer of 2008 he left Brașov and joined the league rivals CF Liberty Oradea . Despite his regular place, he moved to League III at Gloria CTP Arad in his hometown at the beginning of 2009 . Half a year later, he was drawn to local rivals FCM UTA Arad back in League II. However, the intended promotion to League 1 was missed at the end of the 2009/10 season.

Bălgrădean left UTA in the summer of 2010 and moved to the Romanian top club Dinamo Bucharest . This loaned him to the league competitor Unirea Urziceni after two months until the winter break . There he came to his first assignment in the House of Lords on September 18, 2010. In the long run, however, he was unable to assert himself against his competitor Cornel Cernea at Unirea . After his return to Dinamo at the beginning of 2011, he was able to prevail in the second half of the season against Emilian Dolha and became number one in goal. Bălgrădean missed his first title through a defeat in the 2011 cup final against Steaua Bucharest . He made up for this with winning the Cup in 2012 a year later. In the summer of 2014, his contract with Dinamo was not renewed, at the end of August he was signed by CS Universitatea Craiova . There he replaced Bojan Brać as number one and at the end of the 2014/15 season he succeeded Pablo Brandán as team captain . During the 2015/16 winter break he left Craiova again and joined CS Concordia Chiajna , where he replaced Florin Matache between the posts. With the beginning of the 2016/17 season he also became captain in Chiajna.

In February 2018 Bălgrădean left and switched to record champions FCSB Bucharest , where he succeeded Florin Niță , who had moved to Sparta Prague .

National team

Bălgrădean was appointed in early October 2011 for the first time by national coach Victor Pițurcă in the squad of the national team. On November 15, 2011, he came in the friendly against Greece for his only official international match. In March 2015 he returned to the circle of the national team when Anghel Iordănescu nominated him for the European Championship qualifier against the Faroe Islands , but did not use him. At the end of August, the new national coach Christoph Daum called him to his squad for the World Cup qualifier against Montenegro , but he did not use him either.
