Career

society

Christo Slatinski began his career in 2001 with Pirin Blagoevgrad , where he played two league games in the 2001/02 season. Over the years he developed into one of Pirin's regulars before moving to Lokomotive Plovdiv in the summer of 2005 . In his second season with Plovdiv he was able to qualify for the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2006 , but failed in the second round at the Romanian club Farul Constanța . In the two years Slatinski played for Lokomotive Plovdiv, he scored ten goals in 45 games. In 2007 he moved to league competitor Lokomotiv Sofia and signed a three-year contract. He also played internationally with Lokomotive Sofia and took part in the first round of the 2007/08 UEFA Cup , but Sofia narrowly failed there at the French representative Stade Rennes . The following year they failed in the second qualifying round to FK Borac Čačak from Serbia . After Slatinski completed 74 games in three seasons and scored six goals, he returned to Lokomotive Plovdiv. He celebrated his return on July 31, 2010 in a 1-1 draw against Widima-Rakovsky Sevlievo . In his first season he scored a total of eleven goals in 27 league games, including a brace each against Kaliakra Kawarna and CSKA Sofia . In the following season Slatinski was not quite as successful, in 24 games he scored only six goals. However, due to the placement in the 2011/12 season, he played again in Europe in 2012 and took part in the Europa League qualification with Plovdiv. But already in the first two games they failed at the Dutch club Vitesse Arnheim with 5: 7 after two legs. In the 2012/13 season finished only ninth place in the table, Slatinski scored four goals in 26 league games.

In June 2013 Slatinski moved to the reigning Bulgarian champion Ludogorez Rasgrad . He played his first game in qualifying for the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League , losing 2-1 to the Slovak club ŠK Slovan Bratislava . However, with a 3-0 win in the second leg they could still move into the next round. There Razgrad defeated the Serbian representative FK Partizan Belgrade , in the second leg Slatinski scored the 1-0 winner with a penalty. Only in the last qualifying round to reach the group stage did Ludogorez fail at FC Basel . Due to the defeat, Razgrad slipped into the group stage of the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League , where surprisingly they prevailed in a group with PSV Eindhoven , Dinamo Zagreb and Chornomorez Odessa and without a defeat they were group first with 16 points. Slatinski only scored the 1-0 winner again in the group game at Chornomorets Odessa. A goal was not long in coming in A Grupa either, on matchday 12 he scored the 1-0 lead in a 3-0 away win against FC Pirin Goze Deltschew with a converted penalty. Ludogorez Razgrad was also able to cause a surprise as an outsider in the sixteenth finals of the Europa League. On February 20, 2014, they achieved a sensational 1-0 away win at Lazio . In the second leg Slatinski was successful with one goal and thus created the cornerstone in a gripping 3: 3 draw, which was enough for a surprising move into the second round. But in the last sixteen they failed at Valencia CF with 0: 1 and 0: 3 in the end quite clearly.

In the playoff games for the Bulgarian championship 2013/14 Slatinski leads the scorer list with four goals from four games, three of the four goals resulted from penalties.

On May 7, 2014, he and his team secured the championship prematurely with a 1-0 win against his old club Lokomotive Plovdiv two game days before the end of the season. Eight days later he won the Bulgarian Football Cup with Razgrad with a 1-0 against Botev Plovdiv .

In summer 2015 Slatinski left Ludogorez and moved to CS Universitatea Craiova in Romania.

National team

Slatinski played in the Bulgarian U-21 national team from 2004 to 2006 before making his international debut in a friendly against Ukraine on October 7, 2011 . After 67 minutes he was finally substituted for Georgi Milanow , who also made his international debut in that game. Since then, he has played a total of nine international matches for his home country.
