Gediminas Bagdonas
Gediminas Bagdonas (born December 26, 1985 in Mantviliškis , Kėdainiai district ) is a Lithuanian cyclist who grew up in Klaipėda .
Career
Gediminas Bagdonas won a stage at the Tweedaagse van de Gaverstreek in 2005 and he was third overall at the Olympia's Tour . In 2006 he won the one-day race Dwars door het Hageland . At the Lithuanian time trial championship, he finished second. In 2007 Bagdonas drove for the Belgian-Lithuanian Continental Team Klaipeda-Splendid . In the same year he became national time trial champion in the U23 and elite classes. In 2008 he switched to the Kazakh Continental Team Ulan . A year later, the Lithuanian moved to the Piemonte team . In 2009 he won the Philippe Van Coningsloo Memorial in Belgium .
In 2011 Bagdonas switched to the Belgian Continental Team An Post-Sean Kelly . In May 2011 he won two stages and the overall ranking of the An Post Rás in Ireland . Shortly afterwards he won a stage and the overall ranking of the Ronde de l'Oise . In addition, he was again Lithuanian time trial champion and also won a stage of the Tour of Britain . At the end of the season, Bagdonas took part in the World Championships in Copenhagen , Denmark . He finished 32nd in the time trial and 25th in the road race. In 2012 Bagdonas was able to achieve further successes. He finished second in the one-day race around Cologne . He also won the Ronde van Noord-Holland . He was also able to win two stages at An Post Rás. He also won the points classification in this race. He also won the Philippe Van Coningsloo Memorial for the second time in his career . In June 2012 Bagdonas won the Lithuanian road racing championship. Finally, in August of that year, he won three more stages and the overall ranking of the Baltic Chain Tour .
In 2013 Bagdonas switched to the French UCI WorldTeam ag2r La Mondiale . He achieved a second place in the national time trial championships. He also took part in the road world championships . He finished 52nd in the time trial and did not finish the road race. In 2014, he took third place in the final stage of the 4 days of Dunkirk . He took the same place at the Lithuanian time trial championships.
