Wladimir Wassiljewitsch Fedossejew ( Russian Владимир Васильевич Федосеев ; born February 16, 1995 in Saint Petersburg ) is a Russian chess player .

Life

As a youth he was of Alexander Chalifman trained . At the age of 16, he was awarded the title of Grand Master . In 2017 he won the Aeroflot Open in Moscow . In the same year he took part in the Chess World Cup (for the second time after 2015, when he was eliminated in the 2nd round against Alexander Grishchuk ) . In December 2017 he reached the shared first place at the rapid chess world championship in Riyadh , but then lost the playoff for the title against Viswanathan Anand . In 2016 and 2018 he won the Russian team championship with Medny Vzadnik . Fedosejew has played in the German Bundesliga since 2018 for SV 1930 Hockenheim , and in the Chinese team championship he played for Chengdu in 2019 .
