The Wałbrzych Voivodeship was a Polish administrative unit from 1975 to 1998 . It was one of 49 voivodships created by dividing the Wroclaw Voivodeship and had an area of ​​4168 km². In the course of a territorial reform in 1998, it became part of today's Lower Silesian Voivodeship with a population of 733,000 . The capital was the eponymous Wałbrzych ( Waldenburg ).
