Wroclaw Voivodeship

The Wroclaw Voivodeship ( Polish. Województwo wrocławskie ) was a Polish administrative unit, which was initially created around the eponymous Wroclaw from 1945 and formed one of 17 voivodships . It was reduced significantly in 1975 by the establishment of the Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra Voivodeships and only had an area of ​​6287 km². It finally went up in 1998 with around 1.1 million inhabitants in the course of a regional reform in what is now the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . The capital was Breslau.
