Wolf-Dieter Lutz
Wolf-Dieter Lutz (born February 15, 1935 in Mumsdorf ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1977 to 1978 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . He was also active in local politics for over 40 years, which is why he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1994 .
Life
Lutz graduated from high school with the Abitur and then studied pedagogy with a specialization in history and geography at the University of Dresden , where he passed the state examination, and Osnabrück , where he passed the first teacher examination. From 1955 Lutz worked as a teacher and later as vice principal at a primary school. In 1957 he fled from the GDR to the Federal Republic, where he joined the SPD in 1958.
politics
From 1965 Lutz was SPD district chairman in the Wesermünde district . After holding several municipal political offices until the mid-1970s, in 1976 he became mayor of the then combined municipality of Land Wursten . A year later, on October 26, 1977, he moved up to the state parliament of Lower Saxony, where he was a member until the end of the eighth electoral term on June 20, 1978. After leaving the state parliament, he remained active in local politics. He remained mayor of the joint municipality of Land Wursten until 1981 and was again from 1985 to 2001. After that, he was council chairman of the joint municipality until 2005. From November 7, 2001 to January 31, 2004, Lutz was also deputy district administrator in the district of Cuxhaven .
Honors
He has received several honors for his more than 40 years of involvement in local politics. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on June 30, 1994. Previously, he was awarded the Silver Award of the District of Cuxhaven in 1988 and gold in 1994. In 1999 he received the ring of honor from the joint municipality of Land Wursten and in 2005 the badge of honor. Also in 2005 he was made an honorary citizen of the joint congregation. In 2005 he was also awarded the gold badge of honor by the Lower Saxony Association of Towns and Municipalities . In 2006 he was awarded the Ring of Honor of the Cuxhaven District for his many years of voluntary work in the district of Cuxhaven. On his 70th birthday in 2005 he was awarded the Willy Brandt Medal of the SPD. On January 12, 2013, Wolf-Dieter Lutz was made an honorary member of the Wremen Volunteer Fire Brigade. This happened u. a. In view of his more than 40 years of attachment to the armed forces, which is evident in more than 40 participation in various functions at the annual general meetings of the Wremer Wehr.
